When are we going to get to the stage whereby local authorities actually serve their communities, as opposed to serving themselves?

Whilst the the local politicians develop their corporate ‘damage limitation’ processes, I wonder if anyone at County Hall in Plymouth is having sleepless nights about the broken children of this social mess?

  1. They actually try to pat themselves on the back for providing ‘counselling’ for staff and parents. The NSPCC counselling for staff only lasts one session after the discovery that staff know SFA about child protection. We pay nursery staff peanuts so I’m not sure what we expect. I do suspect the manager here made a killing and this may be the key ‘crime’.
