FFS where’s your stiff upper lip?

The BBC have recently been asking a question that I’ve had myself for ages; what happened to the famous British ‘Stiff Upper Lip’?

Everything has to be totally OTT these days, be it happiness, sadness or total indifference; it appears we simply have to do them all to excess, we just don’t have any decorum or standards any more. Americans and the media to blame again no doubt?
